Astelin Nasal Spray Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis Drug Approved by FDA CRANBURY, N.J.-- Nov. 4, 1996 -- The Food and Drug Administration today announced approval of Astelin(R) (azelastine HCL) nasal spray, from Wallace Laboratories, for a complex of systems associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis. Astelin(R) enters the $1.5 billion prescription seasonal allergic rhinitis market and is the first prescription antihistamine spray for seasonal allergic rhinitis in the United States.
