British Columbia's Children's Hospital is located in Vancouver Canada and is the Province's major treatment, teaching, and research centre for child health care. The 242 bed facility, which was opened in 1982, serves patients from birth to age 16 from Vancouver and throughout the province of British Columbia. The hospital handles over 100,000 patient visits each year. A wide range of outpatient programmes enable many children to receive treatment without an overnight stay.
