Norditropin Gets EU Approval For Growth Hormone Disorders

BAGSVAERD, DENMARK -- September 15, 1999 -- Novo Nordisk A/S announced today that it has received mutual recognition for approval of its liquid growth hormone, Norditropin® SimpleXx™ in the EU, via the Danish health authorities.

This is the first liquid growth hormone to be launched with a dedicated pen system (NordiPen™).

Lars Rebien Sorensen, corporate executive vice president in charge of Novo Nordisk Health Care, said: "With the launch of Norditropin SimpleXx we establish Novo Nordisk as the logical first choice for hospitals and doctors treating growth hormone related disorders. We will have the broadest line of products and advanced pen systems that match the needs of each individual patient - an offer which cannot be matched by any other company."

Launch in a number of European countries will take place during 1999/2000. The product was filed in Japan and the US earlier this year.
